    A. Lakewood Road, Marathon to White Sands – Total - $137,000.00

    3. Brining All Gravel Roads - $34,200.00
Note; Add $18,000.00 if a third application is required.

    4. Ditching, Various Locations - $32,550.00
    5. Culverts – A. (2) 18” Cross Culverts on Howell Road, East of Washburn - $7,200.00
                              B. (1) 48” Cross Culvert on Piersonville Road West of North Lake Rd. - $5,025.00
    6. Paving – Peters Road from the Village of Columbiaville Limits to Klam Road. - $344,635.00

Note: Peters Road will be a crush and shape project with the installation of two (2) cross culverts. That is where the existing asphalt pavement is pulverized, mixed with existing gravel and reshaped. Asphalt will then be placed over. Only the base course of asphalt will be placed in 2025. The final course of asphalt will be placed before the fall of 2026. This will give the Road Commission and opportunity to monitor with traffic going over it and repair any deficiencies before placing the final course of asphalt.

Our goals for infrastructure improvements are to be able to place a gravel overlay on existing gravel roads every 10 years which would require us to do a minimum 4 miles every year. We would also like to do an asphalt overlay on each of our existing paved roads every 15 to 20 years.

The Township Board, in an attempt to be proactive, has been setting monies aside for future paving projects which is how we were able to do Peters Road without having to take out a Bond and paying a high interest rate. I should note, however, that even though our hope is to meet these goals it may be difficult with the cost of road and road drainage improvements increasing at their current rates.

If you have any questions regarding the proposed improvements for this year please feel free to email me at supervisor@marathontwp.com or contact the office at 810-793-2002.
